If you want to improve your living space or renovate to sell, here are some things to consider. Updating and remodelling your house for a fresher, modern look – this could involve putting in a new bathroom or kitchen, or taking out walls to create open plan living. Adding rooms for special needs such as an office, home cinema or rumpus room, or extending your property outwards or upwards to create more spaciousness for your growing family. Increasing storage capacity for a tidier environment while reducing clutter, or dividing a large room to create separate living spaces. If you have a great view, you could take down a wall and add a window or french doors. If the morning sun pours into a bedroom and is blinding, you may want to add shutters or blinds or possibly reduce its size or even cover it permanently and add a skylight. If your home is a classic style you may consider total restoration while adding modern features to your bathroom and kitchen. If you want to add value to increase your investment in your property start by researching the clients who would be most likely to buy your property in the future. If you live in the suburbs, you may want to focus on family requirements, like multiple rooms, more than one bathroom, outdoor living and entertainment and a bigger kitchen. If you live in the city, you may want to cater to renters whether single or couples by soundproofing, enlarging living rooms, separating the toilet from the bathroom or adding extra storage. Ask yourself how can you give your home a makeover to make it more attractive to buyers? For example, repainting, or changing dated or damaged fixtures, such as a cracked basin or tiles in the bathroom. If renovating to sell consider tastes of potential buyers, meaning keep things relatively neutral to appeal to a wider range of people. Renovating the bathroom or kitchen is a great start as is putting in a new deck to improve indoor-outdoor flow. Like most people your home is your greatest investment the money you spend renovating will be an investment in your comfort and enjoyment of your house. Why choose us over DIY? Choose Us Now, Avoid Termite Damage Later... Termites thrive in houses where there is moisture; infestation of buildings is usually initiated from a nest in the ground from which the termites build galleries over piers or walls to infest the structure from below. Termites inside the building usually maintain contact with the soil (for moisture) and with the central nest (the communications centre). Freedom Builders is a licensed Building Company which adheres to the standards set by The Australian Building Code. Which simply means you can have confidence in our workmanship and know that all possible steps have been taken to ensure that your home is protected against termite infestation...ask yourself, Do I want a DIY disaster, or the peace of mind that comes from hiring a professional like Freedom Builders? The Freedom Bathrooms Renovation Process - Onsite Consultation/Quote
Call or email us to arrange an onsite consultation and quotation where we can discuss what you would like to achieve and how best to go about it. In the process of renovating your bathroom there are a number of things to consider: Do you require a total strip out of your bathroom? Do you need new tiles on the floors or walls? Do you require other building works, walls moved, etc? What is your budget? The average price to renovate a 2.4 X 1.8m bathroom is between $10-15,000. - Product Selection
Browse our online catalogue or visit our Showroom at Showroom 6, Pacific Place (Cnr Chatswood Rd & Pacific Hwy) for examples of tap ware, vanity basins, toilets and bathroom fixtures. After providing you with an initial quotation we will then meet to discuss and finalise your brief, work out a schedule, and complete a Housing Industry Association “Small Works Contract”. With this done we are able to start your bathroom renovation - Strip Out
We carry out all your demolition requirements, removing existing bathroom ware, fixtures, stripping old wall and floor tiles, also removing tile beds and wall linings (Our staff are trained to deal with Asbestos in older properties). Skip bins are always provided by us and all rubbish is removed from site while taking care to minimize mess. We ensure at the end of demolition day (and every other day), that all rubbish is disposed of and your house is left clean and tidy. - Preparation & Carpentry Work
All too often when renovating a bathroom we find there is water damage to walls and floors due to poor waterproofing in the original construction. We will replace any timber that is damaged in walls and floors as well as undertaking any brickwork or pouring of concrete where required (Termite treatment may also be required in some cases). Your bathroom renovation may require windows and doors to be moved or added, our experienced carpenters will complete all construction required before sheeting of walls, waterproofing, and laying the tile bed. - Plumbing Rough-In
Our licensed plumber is provided with a detailed plan of your bathroom renovation and will check, renew, or relocate any plumbing or drainage to accommodate your new bath, shower and toilet in your new bathroom design. -
Electrical Works Our electricians can install lights/IXLs, heating, ventilation, spa/sauna/toilet electricals, switches and outlets. We use quality products that meet Australian standards. During your initial consultation we will discuss positioning to ensure that your desired changes are feasible given the existing materials used, floor area and cavity dimensions. Our electricians will run all cabling and insert any fitting blocks before wall sheeting is fixed. -
Wall Sheeting We use Villaboard because its moisture resistant properties make it suitable for wet area linings in bathrooms, laundries and kitchens. It is able to resist damage from steam and moisture when installed and maintained correctly. - Waterproofing
Bathrooms are the major wet area in the house, therefore it is very important that the bathroom is correctly waterproofed in order to reduce the risk of structural damage occurring as a result of dampness, water leaks, or condensation. All Waterproofing is in accordance with The Building Code of Australia and is conducted by licensed professionals. - Floor & Wall Tiling
We believe that quality tiling is a key to setting your bathroom apart from the rest. Our experienced tilers are dedicated to perfection and provide nothing but high quality workmanship. We have had countless referrals from happy clients who praise the skills of our tilers, who have extensive experience in laying all types of tiles from ceramic, porcelain, marble, mosaic or stone. No tiles are too big or too small and our tilers welcome a challenge! - Vanity Installation
We stock a large range of vanities in our New Springwood display showroom, showcasing 8 beautifully set up bathrooms to inspire and showcase real results. If you choose a custom vanity, our cabinet maker will visit you onsite to consult with you before the remodeling work begins, ensuring you are 110% happy with your new vanity. Vanity top varieties include quartz based engineered stone (e.g. Caesarstone), marble, 100% acrylic, laminate and granite. Vanity doors, drawers and facings can be constructed in lacquer, timber and laminate (moisture resistant board and top quality hardware). - Shower & Bath Installation
Our specialists will visit you onsite during your renovation to talk you through your needs. Quality shower screens (including frameless, semi frameless & polished nib panels) can be installed that will add the finishing touch to your bathroom. Frameless mirrors with polished edges can also be installed. All glazing is carried out upon completion of tiling. - Painting Painting is optional and many owners choose to do it themselves. If you elect to have painting done, all painting requirements are undertaken by an experienced team of painters.
- Fixtures & Finishing
We seal around the vanity area to ensure no water penetration, leaving a clean and tidy finish. We then install all bathroom fixtures like towel rails, hand rails, soap dishes, toilet paper holders, etc.The last job to be done before leaving your property is the final cleaning and removal of any materials, rubbish, and of course the skip bin, leaving you with your beautiful new bathroom.
